Forward Deployed Engineer
About Arcos
Arcos is building a new civil security provider for Europe. We believe safety is made, not given, and that someone has to protect what societies depend on. Every signal has to be understood, every decision made, every incident resolved, every step proven. Correct, fast, reliable, without compromise. That system is what we build and operate, end to end. Signals, Systems, Societies.
We are looking for exceptional people who want to build the resilience and sovereignty this work depends on. Safety improves when operators, technologists and partners combine their expertise. We build with the industry, not past it.
Everyone here owns the outcome, from the first decision to the measurable result. Relentless ownership is what turns good results into exceptional ones.
The role
Somebody answers. That is what all of this rests on, and it is a person, awake at three in the morning, deciding what a signal means and what happens next. Trident is the software they work in. You are the engineer who works next to them.
You spend your time where the work happens, and you build for what it actually asks for. The aim is a shift where nothing stands between a person and the decision in front of them. The context already on screen. The routine steps already handled. The tool answering before it has to be asked. Some of what you see on a Tuesday you ship by Friday. What turns out to hold everywhere, you carry back into the core platform.
We intend to make this the best place in the world to do this work. That is a software problem as much as anything else, and on the ground it is yours.
Responsibilities
- You work next to the people who answer alarms, through real shifts, including the ones at night.
- You connect what a building already has. Panels, cameras, sensors, lifts, the systems that came with it. Nothing has to be replaced to be represented.
- You automate the routine steps so attention stays on the decision, and you confirm afterwards that it held.
- You build the integrations and tools the work asks for, and you keep them running once people depend on them.
- You carry what proves general back into the core platform, so it no longer needs you in the room.
- You keep the record intact while you change how the work runs.
- You bring the field back to the platform team in specifics, not impressions.
- You know when the answer is a conversation and not a commit.
What you bring
- You build software, and you are at ease in a room where most of the expertise is something else.
- You have shipped integrations against systems you do not control and documentation that is thin or wrong.
- You watch before you propose. The design you arrive with rarely survives the first shift.
- You take people who have done this job for twenty years seriously.
- You are happy to travel to the places where the work happens.
- You speak German and English.
